Cultivating a Culture of Inclusion: Women Thriving in STEM (IgniteHer)
Cultivating a Culture of Inclusion: Women Thriving in STEM (IgniteHer) is an Central Next Generation Grant funded effort. The Women Thriving in STEM project seeks to address the underrepresentation of women in STEM disciplines while fostering a sense of belonging and community among women students pursuing these fields. By focusing on increasing the representation and success of women in STEM, the project aims to contribute to a more diverse and inclusive campus environment that values and supports the participation of women in traditionally male-dominated fields.
At its core, the project aims to achieve two primary goals: first, to enhance the recruitment and retention of women in STEM programs, and second, to cultivate a supportive community where female students feel empowered to pursue their academic and professional aspirations in STEM. Through targeted initiatives and programming, the project will create a more welcoming and inclusive environment for women in STEM, ultimately leading to greater representation and success in these disciplines.
